Why Qualified Professionals?
Treatment and disposal of wastewater from a home or business can be a dangerous and environmentally hazardous process. It is imperative to use qualified persons who can select and/or design on-site sewage disposal systems as well as licensed installers. Selection of an on-site sewage disposal system is made from the On-site Sewage Disposal System Technical Guidelines issued by Nova Scotia Environment and Labour. It is necessary to obtain an approval from the Nova Scotia department of Environment and Labour prior to the installation of an on-site sewage disposal system. Installers are required to hold a Septic Tank Installer Licence.
Qualified Persons Level I (QP1) can both select and design on-site sewage disposal systems. QPI carry identification as Professional Engineers registered to practice in Nova Scotia. They have valid liability insurance and have been trained and certified on behalf of the Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia.
